Sunshade / Parasol

The uClamp and extension pole can also be used as a Parasol for the child in pushchair
or pram. Conventional parasols use clamping devices that do not clamp very well and a
‘flexi-metal’ that often does not maintain its position. ‘How many times have you watched
mothers, stopped in the middle of the street, re-positioning the parasol to provide
adequate sunshade for their child.
This will not happen with the uClamp and extension pole because with superior clamping
capability, once you have positioned your umbrella, it will stay in place.
Any umbrella can be attached to uClamp and extension pole, and used as the parasol.
For example, a Ladies fold-away umbrella is ideal. In sunshine, simply attach it and
it becomes a parasol for your child, yet when it is raining it works just as well as
a raincover for the ‘pusher’ of the stroller or pram.

How Does It Work

Each uClamp set comprises two clamps that work independently of
each other. Both clamps are held together by spindle and two
tightening knobs, one at each end. Each tightening knob controls the
‘clamping’ pressure of the clamp nearest to it. The uClamp will
allow two completely different sized/shaped poles (or the frame of
your wheelchair/mobility vehicle) to be attached to each other at
whatever angle one chooses, around a 360 arc.
The extension pole has ‘two sets’ of uClamps attached to it at either end. The extension
pole is attached to the side frame of the pushchair or the handle-bar section. An umbrella
(its size is the choice of the user) is fixed to the uClamp at the other end of the pole.
Both uClamps allow 360 degree rotation. Rotate pole with bottom uClamp until general position
is found, then rotate umbrella with top uClamp for fine positioning. Tighten both uClamps
to maintain position.
